Hobby Lobby Rocked My World!!

So yesterday I made my VERY, first visit to Hobby Lobby...and OH.  MY.  GOODNESS.  It was love at first sight...I ran from aisle to end-cap to aisle exclaiming "LOVE IT!"  "TOO CUTE!"  FANtastic!"  "I NEED this!"  I honestly think Mom and I were there for at LEAST two hours...every time we thought we were finished around the corner we'd come...to another 80% off aisle...incredible.  I found lots--I'll share my first project today.  I had a loose idea of making something pretty for my classroom...thinking along the lines of a deco-mesh wreath that I've seen so many cute ones of...but wasn't sure how or what to do.  So I went through the store collecting "pretty things".

I got home and started hitting the web hard--looking for instructions...studying pictures...watching tutorials...only to find that I had bought the completely wrong width of mesh...oops.  Wreaths are made with the super wide rolls...I had measly 5 1/2 inch rolls.  I didn't care...I had come this far and I would just have to make it work...so I dove in!

I started with pink (and with NO rhyme, reason, or plan) I plunged in...

Okay...next I added the blue...that was SUPER easy...

Orange...a little harder now...

And finally...the green....whoosh--I was REALLY bored with this process!

Now the fun...embellishment...I added ribbons, feathers, tulle poofies (technical term), bead floral accents, and a few butterflies...

the camera doesn't show it's prettiness...

it STILL needed something...A giant 3!  I modge-podged scrapbook paper on the front...sprinkled it with silver glitter, and added a few rhinestones...I couldn't stop myself!  Next, I stapled wire to the back of the 3 to anchor it...

TA-DAA!!!!

My 3...

It's really floufy!

The colors are much brighter in real life...Overall...FUN!

  2. Thanks Jenni...saw LOTS at Hobby Lobby that would have gone with your Garden theme--maybe we could plan a trip together soon?
